The Benefits of Sleeping Naked

It’s a surprising fact that only 8% of individuals sleep naked. Sleeping naked brings many benefits to people, like sufficient sleep. Having insufficient sleep has been linked to the development and management of a number of chronic diseases and conditions, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and depression.

Sleeping naked may not be the first thing you think about when it comes to improving your health, but it can benefit you in so many ways.

If you consider sleeping naked, make sure you ensure you have a few sets of sheets since you might want to change your sheets more often. Second, surround yourself with comfortable bedding so you don’t become too cold at night. Third, consider showering before bed to keep your sheets clean longer. Lastly, if you sleepwalk, you may want to sleep in at least underwear, especially if you live with roommates or family members you wouldn’t want to see you naked.

Even if you aren’t comfortable sleeping completely naked, reducing the number of layers you wear at night — or even just ditching your bra or underwear — is an easy way to take advantage of these benefits.

When it comes to sleep, the important thing is that you’re taking steps to ensure you’re getting enough good sleep.
